This blog is a bit offtopic (not strictly about tourism), but it's staying here ;)

Ljubljana, "the most beautiful city in the world", also known as "The European Green Capital", was the venue for one of the biggest sports events in Slovenia. Throughout the day, about 18 thousand (❗) runners participated in the 10k run, half marathon and the marathon. Traditionally, even the President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, ran the half marathon.

I decided to register and participate in the 10k run as well. Conquering the 10k was a personal challenge for me and I consider it a personal victory. The tourist season was quite long and schedule was packed so I ran out of time and energy to prepare properly for the run. But being stubborn and persistent, I managed it! Everything is possible! ;) The Sunday morning greeted us with the "traditional" Ljubljana fog, but the skies started to clear up soon ☀ The atmosphere was amazing - a few thousand runners, all in a good mood (not spoiled by the greyish fog).

Among the course of the running route there were two brass bands, playing different marches and songs to motivate the runners. There was quite a lot of local people among the track, cheering on the runners and encouraging us (I even spotted a guy wearing a bathrobe;) ) - thank you all for the support! :)
Once we (finally) made it to the finish line 🏁, the weather got really sunny - and there was also the Mayor of Ljubljana at the finish line, giving all the runners a "high five"! ✋ :)

I wish you all a great week and a lot of pesonal success!
